Principal Update

Dear Trottier:

Mr. Clark and the Trottier Band have been especially busy this week, with a stellar instrumental concert Tuesday night and a memorable Jazz Night performance featuring former Trottier student Conor Jenks. It was a wonderful celebration of our music program and the talented students who bring it to life.

I want to extend a hearty thank you to SOS for planning, organizing, and hosting a truly wonderful 8th Grade End-of-Year Banquet. It was amazing to see our eighth graders come together one last time—there were lots of laughs, plenty of questionable dance moves, and even a few tears… and that was just the Trottier staff! But in all seriousness, it was a fantastic event and a beautiful way to celebrate a class that has grown so much over the past three years. I hope the students enjoyed it as much as I did. Thank you again, SOS!

Looking ahead, we have two more exciting days planned to close out the year. Monday brings our traditional Field Day activities, school-wide trivia, and lip sync. On Tuesday, we’ll run a mini schedule where students can visit each of their teachers one last time, followed b an awards ceremony. Tuesday is also an early release.

Symposium

6th Grade Symposium

Trottier:
I want to recognize our 6th Grade ELA team for hosting a Problem-Solving Symposium tied to their reading of The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind. Students showcased their creative and thoughtful projects for more than 70 visiting community members—it was an inspiring capstone to their learning.
Civic Action

8th Grade Civic Action Projects

8th Grade students researched real-world issues—both school-based and community-based—and developed solution-oriented proposals to drive change. These projects often lead to small (and sometimes major) shifts in our school culture and community. Thank you to Mr. Basta and Mrs. Jenks for your thoughtful guidance and collaboration on this important work.

LGBTQ Pride Month

The month of June is one of many celebrations in our community. We celebrate graduations, moving up ceremonies, first dances, and so much more. As a district, we also celebrate LGBTQ Pride month. LGBTQ Pride Month is commemorated each year in the month of June to honor the 1969 Stonewall uprising in New York City. In June of 1969, patrons and supporters of the Stonewall Inn staged an uprising to resist the police harassment and persecution to which LGBTQ Americans were commonly subjected. This uprising marked the beginning of a movement to outlaw discriminatory laws and practices against LGBTQ Americans. Today, LGBTQ Pride Month celebrations include pride parades, picnics, parties, workshops, symposia and concerts, attracting millions of participants around the world.
