Principal's Update

Dear Trottier Community,

Welcome back to a new school year! We are excited to begin another year of learning, connection, and community at Trottier. A special welcome to our new families—each Sunday evening at 5:00 p.m., you will receive a weekly communication from me. These updates are designed to preview upcoming events, share important reminders, and help you and your child feel prepared for the week ahead. In addition to these weekly messages, we encourage you to follow our Trottier Instagram account, which highlights events, celebrations, and school culture throughout the year.

Please take a moment to review the information below, which includes:
  • Trottier Calendar
  • First Two Day Schedule
  • Arrival and dismissal procedures
  • A message from the Health Office
  • Volunteers for TMS Cross Country
  • Links to our online Trottier store

On Tuesday, it was great having over a dozen 8th-grade tour guides welcome new students and families as part of our open house.

One quick update to share: over the summer, Social Studies teacher Julie Jenks accompanied rising ninth graders from Trottier to meet with Senator Jamie Eldridge and Representative Kate Donaghue. Students continued their eighth-grade civic action projects, specifically discussing the possibility of requiring restaurants to always have an EpiPen available on-site. We are so proud to see our students remain engaged in civic leadership beyond middle school.

Let's make it a great one!

Schedule August 28 and 29

As is tradition, the first two days of school are designed as a celebration of community. Our Trottier Opening Day will include speeches, musical performances, and team-building activities to help students reconnect and get acclimated to school routines. Teachers will also review expectations, emergency procedures, the daily schedule with students, and  distribute Chromebook.s Trottier Opening Day Schedule 25

Please note: students will receive their official schedule on the first day of school. Adjustments are sometimes made leading up to the opening, so if you have questions or concerns after reviewing your child’s schedule, please reach out directly to your child’s guidance counselor.
We look forward to an exciting year together and can’t wait to welcome students back!

Food Services Update

We are excited to share that our district has partnered with Whitsons Culinary Group as our new food service provider this year.

Breakfast and lunch are free again this year. Students will be able to enjoy both meals at no cost.

Breakfast: Students who wish to enjoy breakfast will go directly to the cafeteria when they arrive

For questions, you may contact our Food Service Director, Matt Delaney, atdelaneym@whitsons.com or 508-351-7010 ext. 2222 (ARHS).

A Message from the Health Office

Feel free to swing by the health office to meet the school nurse, Mrs Garland, during the 6th-grade Open House on Tuesday.

Additionally, she will be available to anyone who needs to address medical concerns, drop off medications, and/or doctor’s orders on Tuesday from 12p-5p and Thursday from 9 a.m.- 2 p.m. As a reminder, all orders (medication, medical procedures, and/or medical care plans) need to be rewritten each school year per policy.

Physicals must also be forwarded to her for all 7th graders (to show proof of state-required immunizations) and for anyone participating in school sports. If your child has a vaccine exemption, please be sure to send a new letter dated for this school year.
Please reach out to her via email with any questions or concerns at bgarland@nsboro.k12.ma.us
Drop Off

Pick Up and Dismissal

ENTERING THROUGH DEERFOOT:
If you enter through Deerfoot, you will drop your student off by the picnic tables. Once you have dropped your child off, you will loop back around to exit via Deerfoot.

ENTERING THROUGH PARKERVILLE:
There are two options for drop-off and pick-up in front of the building:
1. You may use the fire lane (closest to the building).

  • Please do not drop your child out by the track. This lane needs to remain open for bus passage.
  • However, you are required to stay in your vehicle, and you are not allowed to skip the line once your child has exited/entered your vehicle. You must wait until the traffic in front of you has cleared.
  • Please move your vehicle all the way forward to the end of the fire lane. Do not stop at the front door for drop-off or pick-up.
  • As a courtesy, if you are in front of the line and don’t see your son/daughter before 2:15, you should exit the line and loop around.
  • Please communicate with your child about pick-up expectations -- where to be and when.
2. A second option is to use the front parking lot, but all vehicles must use a parking spot.
  • You are encouraged to back into a parking spot if you arrive before 2:10.
  • You may exit your vehicle if you wish, and once your child is in the vehicle, we may leave the parking area.
*As always, please use extreme caution during drop-off and pick-up as students are crossing traffic.

All buses will be directed around the building to the trackside. All students will stage on the blacktop in the morning.

Volunteers for Cross Country

Dear Trottier Community,

We are happy to share that we were able to secure a coach for our Cross Country program this fall—welcome to Coach Delaney Taylor. At this time, we are able to offer 30 student slots.
However, we would love to expand the program so that more students can participate. In order to do so, we need community members to volunteer their time to assist with practices and supervision. Practices are scheduled for Mondays and Tuesdays, with meets on Thursdays. With additional parent and community support, we believe we could open up another 20–25 spots for students.

If you are interested in volunteering or would like more details, please reach out directly to Coach Taylor at Delaneypt@gmail.com
Thank you in advance for considering this opportunity to support our student-athletes and help grow the cross country program at Trottier.

Sincerely,
Gary Hreschuk
Principal
