Principal's Update

Thank you for your continued support. It feels great to have a full week under our belts next week as we move into one of the most exciting times of the year.

Our eighth graders will soon be embarking on their Washington, DC trip or visiting the American Heritage Museum in Hudson, paired with a day of service. I cannot thank SOS enough for their generosity and commitment in helping make these meaningful learning experiences accessible to all of our students. I also want to extend heartfelt appreciation to our faculty and staff for the tremendous time, energy, and care they have poured into the planning and organization of these trips.

Looking ahead, we will host parent-teacher conferences in the coming weeks. More information will be shared below.
As our fall sports season comes to a close, we are proud of the outstanding moments from our soccer teams, cross-country team, and field hockey team. Our coaches dedicate an incredible amount of time so students can learn, grow, and thrive as teammates. Their leadership helped build team culture and pride throughout the season.

Parent Teacher Conferences

Dear Trottier Families,

Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held on Thursday, November 13th, 12:30- 2:30 and 5:30-7:30, and Friday, November 14. 12:30-2:30: Conferences will take place in person this year.

Conference sign-ups will be managed through
ParentSquare. We will send out detailed instructions, and the sign-up link will go live at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 6.
As in past years, please keep in mind that we have a supply and demand challenge—there are typically more families requesting conferences than available time slots. If your child is in sound academic standing, we encourage you to consider signing up for just one or two conferences, or reaching out to individual teachers by email if you’d like a brief check-in.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to ensure that all families who need a conference have the opportunity to meet with teachers.

Metrowest Health Survey

Our students will be taking the Metrowest Health Survey this November. All the details about the survey can be found here: Metrowest Health Survey Letter

Daily Attendance

Dear Trottier families:

As the first month of school ends, we want to remind everyone of the importance of consistent attendance. As you know, consistent attendance at school is a key factor in a child’s overall learning success and overall social-emotional well-being. Being at school, on time, every day matters.

Some absences are necessary, such as student illness, medical conditions or appointments, religious observation, or family emergencies. Absences such as family vacations or taking time off from school for reasons unrelated to illness, medical conditions or appointments, religious observation, or family emergencies are considered unexcused.

Students who miss just two days per month (18 days across the year) are considered chronically absent. This amounts to nearly 10% of the school year—a significant loss of learning time. It’s also important to note that tardiness and early dismissals can add up. Arriving just ten minutes late every day equates to over 30 hours of missed learning across the year.

The Department of Education monitors student attendance and considers any student who has been absent for 10% of the school year to be chronically absent. Please click on this link from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education for more information about the importance of school attendance and some ways that you can help maintain a healthy habit of school attendance for your child.

Thank you for your continued partnership.
