Principal's Update

Trottier:

Thank you for your continued partnership and support of our school community. It was wonderful to see so many families in the building for parent-teacher conferences, and we truly appreciate the generosity and thoughtfulness shown through the food provided for our teachers and staff. Your support does not go unnoticed.

We also recognize that not all families were able to secure a conference time due to the limited number of available spots. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out directly to your child’s teacher or to the school—we are always happy to connect.

As we head into a busy week leading up to February break, we ask that families notify teachers in advance if students will be absent. This communication helps ensure assignments are completed and students remain current with their academic expectations.

On Friday, with the support of SOS, we are excited to host our first pep rally and community competition—Ram Jam. This event will be a fun and energizing way for the school community to come together and send our students into the break on a positive note.

Lastly, I’d like to extend a special thank you to Mrs. Scorzelli in the office, who once again has done a wonderful job organizing our Valentine Koala-gram deliveries. Students will have the opportunity to send kind messages to one another, with festive 8th graders delivering them. All proceeds will benefit the Southborough Food Pantry.

Let' make it a great one!

MCAS Dates

Dear Families,
I am writing to share a preview of our MCAS testing dates for this spring so you can plan accordingly.

MCAS participation is important for all students, and we know that spring can be a busy time for families. Our goal is to provide these dates well in advance to support family planning and student readiness.

MCAS Testing Schedule
  • ELA: April 8–9
  • Make-up testing will continue as needed through April 17 to ensure every student completes testing.
  • Math: May 11 and May 13
  • Science Grade 8 Only : May 18 and May 19
  • The Math and Science testing window closes on May 22.
  • Grade 8 Only Civics: May 27 and May 28

Please make every effort to avoid scheduling appointments or taking time off during these testing windows. More detailed information will be shared as we get closer to each testing session.

Strategic Plan

The Public Schools of Northborough and Southborough is reauthorizing its Strategic Plan, Vision 2026: Educate, Inspire, and Challenge. First approved in the spring of 2021, this plan has guided the District’s priorities and actions over the past several years. As we look ahead, it is time to chart the course for the next six years - and we invite our community to help shape that future.

This fall and winter, the District is collecting input from students, families, staff, and community members through multiple avenues, including a community-wide survey. The survey mirrors the January 2021 version, allowing comparison of new feedback with the original baseline data. These insights will inform the goals, priorities, and key actions that will define the next phase of the District’s Strategic Plan.

Your participation in the survey is greatly appreciated. Survey Link

ARHS Fundraiser

The Algonquin High School PTO is excited to announce a Gift Card
Fundraiser featuring a limited selection of local favorites and
experiences. This is a great opportunity to stock up for school breaks,
family outings, or easy gifting, all while supporting our students and
school community.

Arrival Time and Absences

Dear Families,

As we begin the second semester, we want to share a few important reminders regarding attendance and arrival times.

Student Absences
If your child is absent, please notify the school as soon as possible. You may do so by calling or emailing our attendance line:
📞 508-485-2400
📧 trottierattendance@nsboro.k12.ma.us

Morning Arrival & Tardiness
We are seeing an increase in students arriving late to school. We are asking families to do their best to ensure students arrive by 7:40 a.m.
When students arrive late, they miss morning announcements and important information and learning that occurs at the start of first period. This disrupts their learning and makes it harder for them to start the day in a calm, focused way.
We appreciate your support in helping students build strong habits around punctuality and attendance as we begin the new semester.
Thank you for your continued partnership.
