Principal's Update

Dear Trottier Community,

It was wonderful to have a full week back together with our students. Although the taste of spring weather was short-lived, it certainly brought great energy into the building

As we look ahead, a quick reminder about the upcoming schedule: there will be no school next Friday in observance of Eid, and no school the following Monday due to professional development for staff.

The coming weeks will be a busy and exciting time at Trottier. We will soon begin course selection and recommendations for our students as we look ahead to next year. In addition, MCAS testing will take place this spring, along with some of our favorite school traditions such as the annual Volleyball Marathon. Our spring sports season will also be getting underway
.
We will be sharing more information soon about our track program. At this time, it is likely that we will need parent volunteers to help support the program this year. Additional help would allow us to maximize the number of students who are able to participate, and we are hopeful that members of our community may be willing to lend a hand.

Let's make it a great one!

SAEBRS Screener and Opt-Out

Dear Parents and Guardians,

The Public Schools of Northborough and Southborough are committed to supporting students’ social and emotional development, which is a critical component of each child’s education. In the coming weeks, educators will complete a universal social-emotional learning (SEL) screener for students. Universal screeners help educators identify students’ areas of strength and need, but are NOT used as diagnostic tools.

The District will employ the SAEBRS screener, which consists of a rating scale based on teachers’ knowledge and observation of students over the past month or more. Students will not be asked questions directly. Educators will rate areas such as academic engagement, cooperation with peers, positive attitude, and adaptability to change. We will review the screener results and reach out to parents/guardians if we have concerns, with the goal of working together to provide students the support they may need. Additionally, the results will inform our educational practices, future professional development for staff, curriculum planning, and help us measure the impact of programs.

If you have questions, concerns, or would like your child to be excluded from this screener, please contact , Gary Hreschuk, Principal, ghreschuk@nsboro.k12.ma.us by March 20th

The District is committed to supporting your child’s health and well-being and looks forward to continuing to partner to provide a safe, inclusive, and supportive school community.
