Principal's Update

Dear Trottier Community,

I would like to begin by extending a sincere thank you to our SOS for their hard work and generosity during Teacher Appreciation Week. The food, snacks, raffles, and especially the kind notes from students made for a meaningful and uplifting celebration of our staff. These gestures go a long way in recognizing the care, dedication, and professionalism our teachers bring to Trottier each and every day.

I also want to recognize our drama department for two wonderful performances of Myth Understood this past weekend. Both the Friday and Saturday shows, along with the dress rehearsal, were outstanding. The performances on stage and the technical work behind the scenes showcased the tremendous talent and commitment of our students. It was truly a great community event. Thank you to Mrs. Morris, Mrs. Penzone, Mrs. Hight, and Mrs. Montague for their leadership, time, and support in making this experience so meaningful for our students.

Let's make it a great one!

Math MCAS Monday and Wednesday

This is a reminder that we will be administering Math MCAS testing on Monday, May 11, and Wednesday, May 13. It is important that students arrive at school on time, well rested, and ready to do their best. While we do not want students to feel undue stress, we do want to ensure they are in the best position to demonstrate their learning. This assessment provides valuable information that helps us, as a school community, reflect and make informed adjustments to support student growth. Thank you, as always, for your continued partnership and support.

Career Guest Speakers

Dear Trottier Families,
The two 8th-grade Financial Literacy classes will study careers over the next several weeks, and we want to invite parents or interested family members to share their career stories and information with us. This would be about a 20 or 30-minute talk and can be as formal or as informal as you like.
Some possible topics include:
  • How does your work inspire and motivate you?
  • What are some of the unique challenges?
  • How did you choose your career?
  • What path did you take? (In high school, what courses, clubs or experiences were inspirational? Did you pursue this in college? Is additional schooling required? etc.)
  • What does a typical day look like for you?
  • If you could see into the future, what changes might you predict?
  • Do you have any guidance to offer students who have an interest in your field?
...And anything else you think might be relevant to 8th graders.

To sign up, please visit this Sign-Up Genius Linkand, if you're the parent of a student in one of the Financial Literacy classes, please note which section you're signing up for (Monday or Thursday) and which one your student attends.

If you have any questions, please email me, aalenson@nsboro.k12.ma.us, and I will get back to you.
Thank you!
